Training





Unit Level

We have a three year, 120 week training programme as set out by the New Zealand Cadet Forces. At the unit level we teach the following:

  • Aviation Studies
  • Foot and Rifle Drill
  • Adventure Training
  • General Service Knowledge
  • Cadet Force Knowledge
  • First Aid
  • Weapons Training
  • Bushcraft
  • Leadership
  • Life Skills
  • Navigation
  • Instructional Technique
  • Radio Communications

The New Zealand Cadet Forces is currently working toward becoming NZQA accredited, with a view to enabling our unit to award NCEA credits to Cadets for most elements of the above training programme.





National Level

A number of courses are available to Cadets during school holidays at a national level. These include:

  • Junior Leaders Course
  • Senior Leaders Course
  • Advanced Leaders Course
  • National Gliding Camp
  • National Aviation Course (Power)
  • National Aviation Course (Navigation)
  • Airforce Experience
  • Junior Outdoor Leaders Course
  • Senior Outdoor Leaders Course

These courses are available to those Cadets who meet required age, length of service and other eligibility criteria.
